so 2007 comes to a close..... Current mood: accomplished Category: Music Dear You, my dear friends,fanatics and all around freaks, 2008 is finally in our sights as 2007 closes out with a mighty roar for Roi and the Secret People.For those of you who have supported the band from NYC to Philly to Spain to France to New Jersey and beyond we thank you with all our hearts for making it a very entertaining and magnificent year....We FINALLY got our RECORD finished and are looking forward to a real release in Feb. of 2008...10 tracks culled from our live shows called "DoG StreeT"! You've been with us through our highs (lighting the stage on fire at our first show at murrey st. grill, packed out rooms at Arlenes and beyond-to our Lows-Lucky Cat anyone?) and we still wanted to rock with everything we had -whether it be any combination of mike and noel or the whole band -we've dedicated every show to being our best no matter how many were there. The Secret People had many faces this year with some great NYC talents lending their sound on many of the instuments like- Bass with- Frank (http://www.myspace.com/frankonbass ) or Dave Leatherwood- (http://www.myspace.com/davidleatherwood )- drummers like Big Rich,Ben Handel ( http://www.myspace.com/handel ), Eric Novod ( myspace.com/ericno ) and of course the guitar talents of Joe (www.myspace.com/ghostoflychee) and mr. Noel Rockwood (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=6491815&MyToken=f7643fc8-a1ff-4190-9856-2c0dd320dd16). 2008 will definately blow into the R.S.P. camp with a new record-more websites-new videos-bigger shows and of course the merchandise!!!!!!! So to end this Blog we want to wish you all the best for this coming New Year and hope to see you all or hear from you come 2008 -the YEAR of the DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! c'mon peoples-give us some kudos!!!!!!!!!!! word has come down from the almighty mountain that the Roi and the Secret People record has finally been MIXED!!! And now it is in the process of being mastered so....THERE IS A GOD!!! ok ok... now that i've calmed down I just wanted to let you know a few new happenings here in the R.S.P. camp.. Ben Handel is BACK from his lengthy tour of JAPAN and hopefully you'll see his smiling face behind the drumset at the next few R.S.P. shows. Had a late night out with him and some friends last night at Orchard200 in the LES for kris's going away party-We'll miss you dearly our sweet girl!!!!! So it seems at the moment -the secret people drum gods will be alternating between big RICH (who's done our last few shows) and mr. BEN... and of course there is our pastor of Debauchery on the Bass- mr. Dave Leatherwood. also in R.S.P. news- the new record will be called - Dog St. and the record track listing goes something like this: 1. arizona 2.keep it real 3.modern day samurai 4. nancy 5. dog st. 6. mississippi sun 7. starshine 8. firefly 9. monday 10. lead me down We are shooting for a late Jan. release 2008 well thats all for now friends and enemies...We will be giving away free stickers at our next few shows -hope to see you there!!!! m- |
